J. SHIELDS & CO VIRTUAL TASTING
BEAM SUNTORY BOURBON

3 pack
Now that you have your 3-pack of Beam Suntory bourbons, lets walk you through each one as you taste:
JIM BEAM BLACK

BOURBON #1: JIM BEAM BLACK

Our premium, 86-proof bourbon whiskey spends years longer being aged in our American White Oak barrels than our original Jim Beam. It’s those extra years of aging that give Jim Beam Black its full-bodied flavor with notes of smooth caramel and warm oak.
BOURBON #2: BASIL HAYDEN'S

BOURBON #2: BASIL HAYDEN'S

Crafted in 1992 by Booker Noe as part of the Small Batch collection, Basil Hayden’s® introduced a more subtle side of bourbon compared to its counterparts.

This style of bourbon was inspired by 1792 whiskey pioneer Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr., a rye farmer from Maryland who moved to Kentucky and began distilling. He chose to distill his bourbon with a higher percentage of rye, and Booker set out to create a similar high-rye mash bill that would offer the same refined, approachable taste profile.

Today, this bourbon stands as a tribute to Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr.’s high-rye mash bill ingenuity, as well as to Booker Noe, a true innovator who sought to welcome new drinkers into whiskey.
BOURBON #3: KNOB CREEK 9-YEAR

BOURBON #3: KNOB CREEK 9-YEAR

Named after a little creek that ran by Abraham Lincoln’s childhood home, Knob Creek was created by Booker Noe, grandson of James Beam and sixth generation Master Distiller. Booker wanted to create a Super-Premium bourbon in the pre-prohibition style.

Knob Creek is a traditional bourbon with approx 70% corn and equal parts wheat and rye.  It is aged for 9 years in 4-charred oak barrels and made in small batches.  This process provides a sweet corn notes and a full bodied flavor (versus the spiciness or floral quality of rye forward or softness of wheated, like Maker’s Mark).

BONUS: CIGAR!

BONUS: CIGAR!

We wanted to make sure you got the full experience when purchasing the 3 bottle combo so we also threw in a Maker’s Mark dipped cigar from the distillery! This mild to medium cigar was made in the Dominican Republic, in classic Toro shape and style.

It used to be common for cigar smokers to dip their cigars in their favorite brandy or bourbon before lighting up, but such practices have all but disappeared and for good reason. What a mess!
Makers
Maker's Mark has found a way to combine the enjoyment of bourbon and premium cigars through a unique process of infusion. Instead of dipping their cigars into the bourbon — Maker's Mark cigars never physically touch the bourbon — they carefully infuse the cigars with the great Maker's Mark flavors and aromas.

Blended with long filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, these cigars offer a unique, clean and robust smoking experience by combining the refinement of Maker's Mark bourbon and premium cigar tobacco. To top it all off, the cigars are sealed in glass tubes with Maker's Mark's signature red wax to lock in the fine bourbon and tobacco aromas at the perfect humidity.
